The Isomate flange isolation gasket is designed for basic applications where electrical flange isolation and corrosion control are required on pipes containing water, wastewater, gas, natural gas, oil and other hydrocarbon based media up to 175°F(79°C). It is available for flat face and raised face flanges, and consists of a phenolic retainer faced on both sides with nitrile rubber material. The Isomate kit simplifies the ordering process by bundling this gasket with a set of sleeves and washers to create a fully isolated flanged connection
The Isoguard sealing/isolating gasket system is designed for general applications where electrical flange isolation and corrosion control are required on pipes containing water/wastewater, gas, natural gas, oil and other hydrocarbon based medias up to 392ºF (200ºC). Available for flat face, raised face and ring type joint flanges, this system consists of a retainer with an incline-plane seal groove designed to optimize each seal’s elastic memory, in conjunction with a proven rectangular sealing element (“Quad” ring). This design guarantees low bolt load requirements and high sealing reliability. IsoGuard systems are available with a variety of retainers and seal elements
The Defender sealing/isolating gasket system is designed for extreme, high reliability sealing and electrical isolation critical service applications. Manufactured with a 316 stainless steel core retainer and laminated on both sides with high strength laminates, the Defender gasket is resistant to deforming under load and is used when electrical isolation and corrosion control are required on pipes containing gas, natural gas, oil and other hydrocarbon based medias up to 392ºF (200ºC). Available for flat face, raised face and ring type joint flanges, the Defender gasket is an engineered solution for trouble-free operation that eliminates costly leaks and provides a solution for fugitive emissions
Defender FS gaskets were engineered for Fire Safe, extreme, high reliability sealing and electrical isolation in critical service applications. They are designed to withstand the rigorous API standard 6FB (Third Edition) test and therefore provide a solution for those who want to electrically isolate their flange while also requiring protection against the introduction of fire in and around the flange. The Defender FS sealing/isolating gasket and kit, which includes sleeves and isolation washers, exceeds the pressure-containing capabilities in standard 6FB (Third Edition) as outlined by API and is able to maintain its fire safe characteristics throughout the entirety of the test. These gaskets are well suited for high reliability sealing and electrical isolation critical service applications and locations where highly volatile fluids are present
Lamons-IsoTek® IsoKamm® high-temperature sealing and isolation gasket is for applications up to 700°F (371°C) continuous operating temperature. The gasket consists of a .0125” 316 stainless steel core retainer. The sealing element (Klinger® Quantum) is dielectric, pressure resistant, chemically tolerant and contains a precision Kammprofile-contour sealing design. For water applications (NSF) with questionable flange face conditions, a .125” G10 retainer material is used with an EPDM seal element. IsoKamm sealing element placement accommodates either flat, raised, RTJ and water meter flanges

Mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) is used in the production of polyester fibres, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), coolants in vehicle antifreeze and resins. If inhaled, MEG mist may cause a mild burning sensation in the nose, throat and lungs.
Therefore it is important to take steps to prevent MEG leakage creating a vapor or mist. Safety shields should be installed on pipework flanges to diffuse the leak and prevent mist formation.
Although in its liquid state LNG is not explosive and cannot ignite, if vaporised and mixed with air LNG becomes combustible; which occurs when LNG leaks from a faulty flange joint, in a pipeline during movements between processing, storage, transportation and regasification. The LNG vaporises rapidly at which point if it reaches a source of ignition could catch fire.
Thermal, lubrication and fules oils on power generation plants present considerable risks to people and property. When pipe joints carrying such hazardous liquids break, and the resulting spray comes into contact with hot surfaces, it ignites and presents serious danger to those on-site and nearby equipment/infrastructure.
